Billing FAQ

What insurance plans do you accept?

Kennesaw Pediatrics participates with a wide range of insurance providers. To verify if we accept your specific plan, please contact our office directly at 770-429-1005. We recommend also confirming with your insurance provider about coverage specifics and network status to avoid any unexpected costs. For patients who need to designate a Primary Care Provider (PCP), listing Mark Long, MD, ensures coverage for all providers within our practice.

What if I don’t have insurance or my plan doesn’t cover the services I need?

We offer a QuickPay discount program for uninsured or underinsured patients, providing reduced rates for many services. Decisions between QuickPay rates and insurance billing must be made at the time of service; adjustments cannot be made retroactively.

What should I bring to my office visit?

Please bring your insurance card and a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or military ID, to each visit.

Do you file insurance claims for me?

Yes, we handle the filing of all insurance paperwork. Any copays or fees for services not covered by insurance are the patient’s responsibility and will be collected at the time of service.

What payments are due at the time of the visit?
Your responsibility at the time of the visit depends on your insurance plan. This may include copays, coinsurance, or a portion of your deductible. We require a $75 payment towards services subject to a deductible, with any remaining balance billed after insurance processing.
How do I add my newborn to my insurance plan?
Contact your insurance provider as soon as possible after your child’s birth; most plans allow a 30-day window for new additions. Remember to bring your insurance card to your newborn’s first visit.
What if my child is covered under both parents' insurance plans?
Typically, the insurance of the parent whose birthday occurs earlier in the year is considered primary. Confirm with your insurance carriers to understand their specific coordination of benefits rules.
Why did I receive a bill if you accept my insurance?
Even with insurance, there are often charges for which the patient is responsible, such as copays, coinsurance, and deductible amounts. Charges for services not covered by your plan will also result in a bill.
When do you send out bills for balances due?
Statements are issued after we receive notification from your insurance regarding their portion of your charges. Unpaid balances are subject to a $25 late fee if not settled within 30 days of the initial statement.
Why did I receive a bill from another company?
For services like certain lab tests and equipment rentals, external providers may bill you directly. These are separate from charges incurred at our office and are not double-billed.
What are the fees for forms and records?

Immunization records and standard forms required for school or sports are provided free of charge at the time of your visit. There is a fee for additional or replacement forms or for documents requested outside of a visit.

For comprehensive answers or to discuss specific billing issues, please don’t hesitate to contact our billing department. We’re here to help ensure that your billing and payment processes are as smooth and understandable as possible.
