About Us

Raised in a Tennessee farming community, Dr. Mark Long embodies the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. He attended David Lipscomb University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Long is a seasoned pediatrician with a rich background in both primary and urgent pediatric care, and he has a special interest in managing ADHD, asthma, and newborn care. Board-certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Long brings nearly two decades of dedicated service to our team.

Raised in Livingston, New Jersey, Dr. Strauss completed his undergraduate studies at Haverford College, excelling in track and cross country. He earned his medical degree from New York University, followed by a pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Before joining KP in 2009, he served as a primary care pediatrician in the Bronx and as an Assistant Professor at Emory University. Dr. Strauss has special interests in Asthma, Nutrition, and Developmental Disabilities. An avid runner and violin player, Dr. Strauss is committed to providing exceptional pediatric care to your family.

After achieving her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Georgia, Dr. Alex Gusmerotti excelled at Mercer University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee Health and Sciences Center. An active individual, she enjoys hiking, spin classes, and holds a black belt in Taekwondo. Dr. Gusmerotti is passionate about providing comprehensive pediatric care and is ready to serve your family’s health needs.

With a heart for newborns and a steady hand in high-risk deliveries, Dr. Hill-Buckler joins us from AnMed Medical Center in Anderson, SC, where she served as a Pediatric Hospitalist. Her experience spans the well-baby nursery, level II NICU, and neonatal resuscitation — ensuring your baby receives the highest level of care from the very beginning.

Families love her gentle approach, and her dedication to mentoring future physicians speaks volumes about her passion for pediatric medicine. She trained at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Hospital during her residency at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and holds degrees from Mercer University and Kennesaw State University.Certified in PALS and NRP, and a proud member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, Dr. Hill-Buckler is ready to walk alongside families through one of life’s most precious transitions. Whether your baby arrives early or right on time, Dr. Hill-Buckler is here with warmth, skill, and compassion — every step of the way.

Carrie grew up in Sandy Spring, GA. Carrie attended the University of Alabama where she received her degree in Nursing. She started her nursing career at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in the Pediatric ICU in 2009, where Carrie continued to work while earning her Master’s Degree from Emory University as a Nurse Practitioner. Carrie has always been passionate about mental health and recognized the critical need for pediatric mental health services during the pandemic. With close to 10 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Carrie became certified as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. When Carrie is not seeing patients at Kennesaw Pediatrics, she enjoys watching football, reading, and spending time with her family.

Crystal is a skilled and compassionate Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with a BSN from Mercer University and a Master’s degree from Emory University. She brings nearly 20 years of hands-on experience in pediatrics, including critical care, primary care, school nursing, and clinical education. She’s worked in fast-paced settings like PICUs, day surgery units, and urgent care. She has also taken on leadership roles, guiding and mentoring new and seasoned staff. Crystal is known for being calm under pressure, having strong teaching abilities, and being committed to quality care. She holds up-to-date certifications in PALS, and BLS. Whether she’s leading a team, educating future nurses, or caring for young patients, Crystal brings dedication, heart, and a deep well of knowledge to everything she does.

Outside of work, Crystal enjoys reading, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and two children in Grant Park.
